recent update :
Korea: N Seoul Tower
written on Sunday, June 01, 2014 @ 4:17 PM ✈

안녕!

It has been quite a while since I am back! Too busy recently with things. So the longer interval between each post! Hopefully I can finish all my intended updates before the date that I previously mentioned :)

I think I have yet to mention my trip to Namsan for N Seoul Tower, the tourist must go (or should I say would go? Hahas)  tower in Seoul as it is the highest observatory tower in Seoul. (But if you have been to a few others taller observatories in other countries then you might want to skip this? Since it isn’t very tall, I think is about 200 to 300 m in height?)

However, you can still choose to visit the teddy bear museum and the love lock corner even if you don’t feel like visiting the observatory :) (There is a bundled pricing for the museum and the observatory if you wish to visit both of them at the same time!)

So ZH and I went to meet our friend, J with her cousin for the trip to Namsan since it just so happened as I was in Korea when it was my birthday, and we all have yet to visit Namsan! (hahas, belated celebration for  my 21st  with my familiar friends, not bad huh, hehe ?)

( Long candle, unlike the one in Singapore, like how they come with matchsticks as well! So thoughtful!)

So we met at somewhere nearby the Namdaemun subway area before walking up to take the cable car to the bottom of the observatory tower!

I think you can choose the walking way, if you don’t mind climbing the slope. But it was raining when we were there so cable car might be a better choice>< (Plus, we didn’t know where is walking area, since the cable car area and the walking area is quite a distance away.)

Anyway the cable car was slightly different from the one we have in Singapore to bring us into Habourfront. (Everyone just squeeze into one cart, and off we go to the tower! A bit scared since it is upward riding and it was quite crowded, so get a ‘good’ spot once you are inside, aka hold the pole area. Oh, was it only one or two cart that is in operation for the cable car? )(Singapore’s cable car limits a certain number of people and all passengers have to be seated, if I didn’t remember wrongly >.<)

(Raining :( Sob,sob)

(Finally here! At the Cable car area.)

(The view better through your eyes! :) )

(See the number of ppl inside one cable car!)

(We are finally here!!)

(Observatory tower behind!)

(Love Lock trees!!)

Yeah, so we are finally here at the tower! Bought the bundle package (duh, we are all girls so how can we miss the teddy museum, what’s more the museum theme is Korea history, so it helps you to understand Korea a little bit more and at the same time appreciate those bears, hahas)
How can we not take some photos outside before plunging into the museum and the tower?

(Teddy bear museum and observatory tower combination!)

(raining cloud :( if not it will be a lot more prettier!!)

Some ice-cream in a rainy day before heading to the teddy bear museum!

The teddy bear museum is located outside the official entrance of the top part of the observatory tower.

(let's pose with teddy bear PSY!)

(this is random, hahas, some info about N Tower?)

(human size teddy bear! so cute:)))

(this is outside the entrance of the observatory N Seoul Tower)

There are 2 sections for the teddy museum as they are split into the past and present of Korea; you can choose to enter anyone of them first? But I guess most people would want to start from the past right? Or am I wrong? Lol!

In the ‘past’ section of the museum, the settings revolve around the palaces and commoners building house / doing their own daily activities, some of the bears are able to move as well! I know this is weird but I really wonder how they keep the bear ‘seem’ like dust-free while touring the whole museum, hahas.

(Building of the traditional houses in the past!)
(ceremony in the palace!)
(life size teddy bear!)

(i think he is a Yangban, or is he a official?)

(Palace ceremony)

(King's library)

(The KING!! the hand for the lighting to be better, hahas!! LOL at the things we do to take photos, hehe)

(At one of the gate to the streets)

(horse riding time, women are not allowed to ride a horse in the past!)

(slightly more modernised)

(simplified timeline for Korea!)

So after the visiting the ‘past’, let’s fast-forward and see how Korea has changed and become a modernized country now!

(i think this is for the opening ceremony of Korea Zoo? )

(could be Gangnam during Christmas? couldn't really rmb alr)

(outside Dongdaemum, cause Doota! is there! hahas)

(should be Insadong, if i didn't remember wrongly)

(the Nanta show famous in Korea)

(World Cup season infront of the City Hall!)

(President House- known as Blue House)

(Hip-hop area!)

(teddy bear PSY again! hahas)

Main tourist attractions of Seoul are portrayed here, Everland, City Hall, etc, you name it and they got it!

(Princess and Prince!!)

Other special teddy bears are available on display as well!

(Winnie the Pooh's teddy bear!)

Teddy bear shop is available for you to get some souvenirs as well! But no photo-taking there! :( So here is the only one from taken within what we can see from the museum side.

I think we spent about 2 to 3 hours there? Just kept taking photos after photos and it’s so difficult to keep our eyes away from them! They are really cute!

It was around 4 to 5pm when we are done at the museum and went down to love lock area before we head up to the top of the observatory for the sunset and night scenery!!

There is something that I would like to admit here, I actually got a bit shocked when I see the love lock in real life and up close, they are definitely not as pretty as they seems in photos, cause some of them are rusty already, :(

Well, what to expected when these locks are left in the rain/sun/wind for 365 days every year! (But, they are still good for far photo shoot, since they are so colourful, and available in all different designs and shape!)

Am I the only one who wondered if anyone would remove the locks to make space for new locks cause almost every couple who come here lock one at least!! And there are so many people who come here each day!!

Hate the bad weather that day makes the sky so dull and cloudy :( And it was getting windier as it gets darker!

Time to get to the top of the observatory tower to get a window for the sunset! :) (Ok, there wasn’t any sun to begin with so we are up there to see the change in the sky colour, lol!)
(a little boring here as there wasn’t much thing to do other than looking out of the panels to see the landscape about Namsan.)

(the screen on the top of the lift during the ride up to the top of the observatory! it was super fast!!)

(you can see every part of Seoul at the top of the observatory tower!)

At least the night scenery save the trip up to the top of the observatory if not it would have been a waste of money :)

(souvenir shop! no close up photos allowed:(  )

(finally night time!)

(Pardon for the lack of scenery light, as we were using our phones’ light to see our face in those photos, hehe)

Finally night time, so is time to go down the tower to see the light show using the outer surface of the observatory tower! And to visit the souvenir shop as well, I still haven’t use my souvenir up till now, lol! It is a gift box which contains something of everything, definitely not as pretty as those that you buy separately but is still passable since it is 7k won!

Back to the Love Lock area before the light show on the tower!

Night show using the tower!

Time to leave already since it was really late and we haven’t eaten our dinner yet!

Notice that we didn’t eat anything other than the cake in the late morning, and an ice-cream during the afternoon. We are damn hungry now!! Rush off to Myeongdong ASAP as it is getting late, maybe around 9 plus?? And most of the shop closes at 10pm in Myeongdong, including the street food and restaurants! (we went back another day to shop at Myeongdong, if you are a shopaholic/ comestic focus/ eating you need half a day at least and stay from later afternoon to night as more food store at night!)

(Street food!! I love the street food there!!)

(Did i mention before that ZH always take photo with her handsome whenever we see him? Partly our fault, since we know she love him! hahas)

Notice: I just realized that they have replaced the teddy bear museum with Alive museum now!:(

Well, you can always go for the teddy bear museum in Jeju instead, if you going. Anyway, Alive museum is a similar type of museum as Trick eye and there is one Alive at Jeju previously. Think Trickeye and Alive is just museum owned by 2 different companies, but concept is the same? Since me and ZH skipped Alive in Jeju and based on from our friends who went to Alive when we go for the folk museum it is similar idea, just different picture. hahas
